Robert De Niro Gives ‘The Irishman’ Update

Here’s a brief interview with Robert DeNiro on the promotional trail for his film ‘Limitless‘ with Bradley Cooper, looking somewhat exhausted as stars get with the countless interviews,  he was gracious enough to give the interviewer some nuggets of info regarding his gangster film reunion with Martin Scorsese.

The project entitled The Irishman has been a long time in the making and is controversial in it’s subject matter. The story is based on the book ‘I heard You Paint Houses’ where former Mob Hitman Frank Sheeran admits to killing Jimmy Hoffa and offers a different take on the JFK assassination.

The upcoming film has attracted a lot of attention as it would also reunite Joe Pesci with DeNiro playing a key role, probably that of Hoffa, and Al Pacino has also expressed interest in a role. Films often get delayed and with Scorsese busy working on other projects, the question was raised whether the filmmaker would still have time to make it in the near future.

Recently it was announced that he would be making ‘The Wolf Of Wall Street’ with Leonardo DiCaprio and he’s currently completing post production on ‘Hugo Cabret’. DeNiro was therefore asked which film will Martin Scorsese be making next, and at which point will they be making ‘The Irishman’.
