Scream 4 – Trailer #2

Dimension Films have finally released a new theatrical trailer for Scream 4 with plenty of action not seen in the teaser that came out in October. Early test screenings are proving positive with the flick generating good buzz that suggests this new entry could be on a par with the original.

The production has had it’s fair share of behind-the-scenes issues from the script rewrites to Campbell’s reluctance to return, to the inevitable studio interference and the unfortunate split of Courteney Cox and David Arquette.

Scream 4 sees Neve Campbell‘s character Sidney Prescott now a self-help author returning home to Woodsboro on the final stop of her book tour. She meets up with Sheriff Dewey, (David Arquette), and Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (Emma Roberts) and her Aunt Kate (Mary McDonnell). Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.

The new sequel also stars Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Adam Brody, Anthony Anderson, and Alison Brie. Kristen Bell and Anna Paquin are also in the film but (spoiler) their parts are said to be similar to Drew Barrymore‘s shocking cameo in the first.

Directed by Wes Craven, the screenplay was written by Kevin Williamson who penned the scripts for ‘Scream’ and ‘Scream 2’.

Scream 4 cuts up your local cineplex, April 15, 2011.
